Prosegue the increase of the results of shipowning group and logistic DFDS


In the third trimester of this year the shipowning group and logistic Danish DFDS has recorded a profit of clearly 709 million Danish crowns (95 million euros) on revenues pairs to 3,8 billion Danish crowns, with increments respective of +24.0% and +0.2% on the correspondent period of 2015. EBITDA and EBIT have turned out pairs respective to 972 million Danish crowns (+15.2%) and 738 million Danish crowns (+18.2%).

In the third trimester of the 2016 fleet of ships ro-ro and ferries of the group has transported rotabili for a total pairs to beyond 9,4 million linear meters (+16.1%) and almost 2,6 million passengers (+9.9%). "The volumes - of the Shipping division of DFDS, Peder Gellert has explained the executive vice-president - are remarkablly increased in all the parts of our Network and are already using almost all the ability to our current fleet". Remembering that in spring the Danish group has undersigned an agreement with the Siem Industries in order to rent two ships ro-ro of the unitary ability to 4.074 linear meters, that the May and september of 2017 will be taken in delivery in, agreement that includes options for their acquisition( 19of May 2016), Gellert has emphasized that "from the next year these two new great ships will constitute a remarkable widening of the ability that we will be able to offer to our customers. Moreover in the past weeks DFDS it has ordered to the Chinese ship yard Jinling two new great ships ro-ro, with option for other four units, that they will be taken in delivery in the 2019(of 3 October 2016).

In the first nine months of this year the DFDS fleet has transported altogether vehicles for a total of 28,0 million linear meters and fleeting for a total of 5,5 million people, with increments respective of +22.2% and +14.1% on the same period of 2015.

EBITDA and EBIT have attested respective 2,1 billion to Danish crowns (+27.9%) and 1,4 billion Danish crowns (+38.8%).

While DFDS has announced to have signed an agreement in order to buy the entire capital of the society of road haulage Shetland Transport, with headquarters to Lerwick in the Shetland Islands and centers to Aberdeen and Coatbridge (Glasgow), that it has 55 dependent and a fleet of 28 engines and 128 towings dedicated mainly to the transport of fresh fish. Shetland Transport will be renamed DFDS and will take part of the Logistic division of the Danish group.
