The MSC investment Cruises for the two new ships of class "Seaside AGE" will pile to 1,8 billion euros



The two ulterior cruise ships that Fincantieri will construct for company MSC Cruises and that they will be of class "Seaside Evolution", evolution of the prototype of the class "Seaside" constituted by two new ships - with the first, the MSC Seaside, that it is delivered today to the shipowning society to the presence of President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella - will be realized in the ship yard of the navalmeccanico group to Monfalcone and will involve a total investment of 1,8 billion euros.

Executive president of MSC Crociere has announced this afternoon, Pierfrancesco Vago, in occasion of the signature of the contract between the company and Fincantieri, to the presence of the minister of Infrastructures and the Transports, Graziano Delrio, specifying that the agreement previews the delivery of the new ships in 2021 and in 2023. With the new agreement the option for the construction of a third ship of class "Seaside" to deliver in the 2021 fixed one in 2014 in the within of the order for the first two ships is replaced with the construction of before the two ships of class "Seaside AGE".

"Looking 2017, reached by now almost the term - it has declared Vague - this has been a year in which we have recorded an increase of the ability unprecedented. We have put in service two of the new single more innovative ships of the field in six months and now we add to two Seaside ships AGE to our industrial plan, placing our total presence still more up. We expect - it has specified - the delivery at least a new ship every year until 2026, with six commissioning between 2017 and 2020".

The new ships of class "Seaside AGE" will be long 339 meters and wide 41 meters. They will have a tonnage of 169.380 tons and the maximum ability to 7.280 people, of which 5,646 passengers and 1,634 members of the crew. With the addition of these new ships, the industrial plan of MSC Cruises comprises the construction of 12 new ships within 2026 for a total investment of 10,5 billion euros.

While, finished the today's ceremony of delivery, new ship MSC Seaside will sail for the first time towards Trieste. From the ship it will undertake a travel there towards Miami for the "Naming Ceremony" that 21 will be celebrated next December. The port of the city of Florida will be the home port of the ship that they give there will leave in order to carry out cruises weeklies magazine in the Caribbean alternating routes in the Caribbean orientals and the western Caribbean.

Twin ship MSC Seaview, instead, that it will enter in June in service 2018, will begin its summery season in the Mediterranean. In occasion of the Vague today's ceremony it has announced that MSC Seaview will be christened to Civitavecchia on June 2, 2018.
