Thursday to Trieste the convention "To design the port of the future: Horizon 2030"



Next thursday to Pier IV of the port of Trieste, beginning from hours 9,00, of will hold the convention "To design the port of the future: Horizon 2030" that it constitutes the conference of half sent of the European project "DocksTheFuture". In the course of the encounter one will discuss about portualità and future: from the perspectives of the flows of marine traffic to the development of the transports and the logistics, from I use it of renewable energies to the new horizons of the technological innovation.

The event, promoted from the Circle company and the portuguese association "Magellan - EU Affairs Consultancy" in collaboration with the Authority of Harbour System of Mare Adriatico Orientale, wants to be a reflection on the results up to here obtained from the DocksTheFuture project that propose the objective to define the concept of port of the future and the challenges that will have to face: simplification and digitalisation of the processes, reduction of the emissions, energetic transition, relation city-port, management of renewable energies.

The conference is in particular proposed to define main thematic that will influence on the design of the European ports in next the 10 years, having identified the indicators of performance (KPI), constructing a coherent "Port of the Future Road Map" and net of ports that work in the defined synergy "Port of the Future Networks of Excellence".

After the salutes of opening of Zeno D' Augustin, president of the Authority of Harbour System of Mare Adriatico Orientale, and the coordinator of the DocksTheFuture project for Italy, Alexio Peak, the work will take to the way with the participations of the Maritime representatives of the International Organization (IMO) and of the Head office for Mobility and the Transports of EU commission (GD MOVES). To follow, the day will accommodate a panel series on the future competitiveness of the European ports, as the total strategy of mitigation of the climatic change and the create perspectives after the recent expansion of the Suez Canal. Round tables will concentrate themselves then on the general forecasts of the flows of marine traffic within 2030, on the development of the field of the transports and the logistics in the Baltic Sea, on the main trends of the shipping in next the 10 years. Al afternoon will follow technical sessions on technologies, processes and actions of capacity building with the participation of experts of high level in the harbour field, comprised the specialist presents in the "Port of The Future Networks". It will close the day the regional focus "Ports of Trieste Vision 2030", a zoom lens on the main European projects for the development of the ports of call of the region as "Smart Port" and the strategy INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY adopted from the Authority of Harbour System of Mare Adriatico Orientale.

DocksTheFuture joins in the organized palimpsest of events from the AdSP of Mare Adriatico Orientale in order to remember the institution of the Carriage free of Trieste by Emperor Carlo YOU in 1719. "To accommodate this conference inside of the celebrations of the 300° anniversary of the Carriage free - Zeno has explained D' Augustin - it is a way in order to value the conquests of the past inserting them in the concrete scene of near future. As they will have to be the ports, which technologies we will have on hand, of which new solutions we are already in possession and which we will have instead to imagine in order to answer to the great challenges that are shown are reflections that elevate our daily action, inserting it in a total perspective in which the factor time becomes strategic".
