Today, with the cut of the first sheet, in the ship yard Meyer di Turku the construction of Costa Toscana is begun, the second cruise ship of the Costa Crociera company that will be fed to which liquified natural gas. The gas will be stored in appropriate tanks on board of the ships and used in order to produce the necessary energy to navigation and to the services of edge, thanks to engines hybrids to double feeding.

With a tonnage of beyond 180.000 tons and 2.600 rooms each, Costa Smeralda and Costa Toscana take part of a plan of expansion of the fleet of the group Coast, that he comprises the marks Costa Crociere and AIDA, that previews seven new ships in arrival within 2023, for a total investment of beyond six billions of euro in which the two units AIDAnova and Costa Venezia re-enter delivered respective to December 2018 and to the end of February 2019.
