DIT (Bolloré - APM Terminals) leaves the management of the container terminal of Douala



This afternoon the Douala International Terminal (DIT), the society participated from the French group Bolloré and Dutch APM Terminals of shipowning group Danish A.P. Møller-Mærsk that manages the container on June 28, 2004 terminal of the port of Douala-Bonaberi within a concession contract undersigned that it expires today, will have to yield the management of the terminal African to the Régie du Terminal to Conteneurs (RTC), society purposely constituted by the Harbour Authority of Douala 6th December.

However the camerunese government had sped up Port Independent de Douala to send back the award of the contest in order to attend the pronunciamento of the court, that he has at last cancelled the procedure of allocation of the terminal to a private operator. From tomorrow, therefore, the terminal will pass in the hands of public society RTC.

If today Bolloré must leave Douala, the Network African of the French group but has become rich of a presence in the port of Port Saïd. In recent days, in fact, the branch Bolloré Transport & Logistics, with Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) and to the Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), has signed with the Économique Zones du Canal de Suez the contract of concession for the management of a terminal for rotabili in the port Egyptian. The agreement previews a total investment of 150 million dollars for the acquisition of equipments and the development of infrastructures to the aim to assure to the terminal a annual ability to traffic of 800 thousand vehicles.
