China's seaports recorded a new record of freight traffic in September

The new global historical record is not such if you take taking into account only the international traffic moveded the last month from Chinese ports which amounted to 400.8 million of tons, which is still the new record for september and an increase of +8.4% on September 2019 when the previous record had been achieved. Last month, the international freight traffic moveded only by in-house ports reached a total of 46.4 million tonnes (+21.7%), the volume that sets the new historical record. A September 2020 international traffic moveded only by ports seafarers stood at 354.4 million tonnes, volume which is the new traffic record for the month of september and represents an increase of +6.8% on September 2019 when the previous record had been set.

With regard to the freight traffic moved last month by the ports, the port of Ningbo-Zhoushan has 102.4 million tonnes (+10.0%) of which 45.8 million tonnes of international goods (+9.6%), the port of Tangshan 61.4 million tonnes (+7.2%) of which 24.9 million tons international goods (-6.7%), the port of Shanghai 58.0 million tonnes (+4.7%) of which 33.9 million tonnes of goods (+4.0%), the port of Guangzhou 52.8 million tonnes (-0.4%) of which 13.2 million tonnes of goods (+5.5%), the port of Qingdao 52.0 million tonnes (+5.7%) of which 38.3 million tonnes of goods (+5.9%), the port of Tianjin 47.8 million tonnes (+2.2%) of which 25.6 million tonnes of goods (-1.7%), the port of Rizhao 45.6 million tonnes (+15.5%) of which 30.8 million tons of goods international markets (+19.3%) and the port of Yantai 33.3 million tonnes (-3.1%) of which 12.7 million tonnes of goods (+21.5%).

With regard to containerised traffic only moveded, the last month from Chinese ports, the total was 24.5 million teu (+7.6%), of which 21.6 million teu were moveded by the seaports (+6.8%) and 2.9 million teu from inland port (+13.2%). The largest volumes of containerized loads were moved from shanghai port with 3.8 million teu (+3.8%), the port of Shenzhen with 2.8 million teu (+22.6%), the port of Ningbo-Zhoushan with 2.7 million teu (+13.8%), the port of guangzhou with 2.0 million teu (+2.0%), from the port of Qingdao with 1.9 million teu (+7.3%), from the port of Tianjin with 1.8 million of teu (+7.3%) and the port of Xiamen with 1.1 million teu (+12.8%).

In the first nine months of 2020, the total number of goods moved chinese ports amounted to 10.60 billion tons, with an increase of +3.0% on the period January-September last year year, of which 7.02 billion tonnes are moveded by ports maritime workers (+2.6%) and 3.58 billion from inland ports (+3.7%). The only international traffic totalled 2.37 billion tonnes (+4.2%), of which 3.01 billion tonnes seaports (+4.2%) and 359.4 billion tonnes from in-house ports (+4.4%).

In the first nine months of this year, traffic alone containerised was totalled 192.6 million (-1.3%), of which 171.2 million teu were moved from ports seafarers (-1.1%) and 21.4 million teu from inland ports (-3.5%). The the largest volumes of containerised cargoes have been shanghai ports with 31.6 million teu (-3.7%), Ningbo-Zhoushan with 21.4 million teu (+0.5%), Shenzhen with 18.9 million teu (-2.1%), Guangzhou with 17.0 million teu (+0.8%), Qingdao with 16.0 million teu (+2.3%) and Tianjin with 13.8 million (+5.2%).
