In April the traffic of goods in Chinese seaports decreased by -2.8%

As for container traffic alone, in April 2022 the ports Chinese have enlivened a total volume of almost 23.7 million teu (-0.2%), of which 20.8 million teu enlivened by seaports (+0.2%) and more than 2.8 million teu from ports internal (-3.1%). The largest volume of traffic containerized was handled from the port of Shanghai with 3.1 million teu (-17.2%), then from the ports of Ningbo-Zhoushan with 3.0 million teu (+11.8%), Shenzhen with 2.6 million teu (+10.6%), Qingdao with 2.1 million teu (+9.2%), Guangzhou with 2.0 million teu (-2.8%), Tianjin with 1.8 million teu (+1.1%) and Xiamen with 980 thousand teu (-2.0%).

In the first quarter of this year the global traffic of the goods in Chinese ports amounted to 4.90 billion tons, with a modest growth of +0.2% on the corresponding 2021 period, of which 1.49 billion tons of cargoes international (-4.2%). The seaports alone have enlivened 3.24 billion tons (+0.6%), of which 1.34 billion tons of international traffic (-3.1%) and inland ports 1.66 billion tons (-0.7%), including 146.4 million tons of goods with foreign countries (-13.0%).
