
Last year, 2,792 trains arrived and departed from the port of
Livorno, with an increase of +10.4% over 2023. The Authority of
Port System of the Northern Tyrrhenian Sea has announced that
in the entire area of the Livorno port city in the
2024, 3,228 trains were handled (+8.9%). Especially
last year they passed through the docks of the port
44,447 floats (+7.2%) and in the entire area there were
a total of 51,402 wagons were handled (+9.0%). In addition, the Port Authority
specified that in 2024 there was a growth of
double-digit for rail containers, whose increase compared to
to the previous year was +16.9% with reference to the
trains handled and +10.7 with reference to railway wagons.
With the increases recorded during the year, the rail share of traffic
containerized to and from the hinterland rose from 16.3% in
2023 at 19% in 2024, with Padua, Rubiera, Marzaglia, Reggio Emilia
and Bologna among the main origins/destinations.
Still with regard to rail traffic, there is an increase in
the forest products sector also achieved in 2024, with a
