Moroccan port group Marsa Maroc announced today that Its Board of Directors has approved the the signing of a 25-year concession contract relating to the West Terminal of the Port of Nador West Med. The new terminal will have a quay of 1,440 linear meters with depth of the seabed of -18 meters. Part of the quay, for a total of 900 meters, will be dedicated to the traffic of containers, while another 540 meters will be reserved for the handling of other miscellaneous goods. The terminal will be developed on an area of 60 hectares and will be equipped with eight cranes of ship-to-shore quay, 24 rubber-wheeled gantry cranes and four cranes latest generation furniture.

The Moroccan group announced that together with its partners, without specifying which subjects it is, plans to invest 280 million for the implementation of the first phase of the project which will be he believes it will become operational from 2027.

Marsa Maroc highlighted that with the new West Terminal of Nador West Med the containerized traffic capacity of the group will rise to nine million TEUs per year, of which about seven million transhipment traffic. We remind you that the company has recently signed agreements with the French CMA CGM and the Luxembourg company TIL of the MSC group for the management of the Terminal East of the port of Nador West Med ( of 29 October 2024 and 19 February 2025).
