
This morning the Management Committee of the System Authority
Port of the Northern Tyrrhenian Sea has unanimously approved
the Three-Year Operational Plan (POT) 2026-2028 of the entity which, as
strategic investment is hinged,
for the port of Livorno, on the Darsena Europa, the 845
million euros for the creation of a new platform
port which, in the first phase, will be equipped with a new
container terminal and in the second phase of a terminal
for the motorways of the sea and ro-pax traffic. Among the main
objectives already identified, there is the completion of the
path that must lead, by the end of 2026,
the start of the procedures for the identification of the operator
to whom the completion and subsequent management of the
future container terminal.
With regard to the port of Piombino, the new POT provides for
Accelerate the commissioning of available areas to attract
investments related to shipbuilding, industrial logistics,
energy plant engineering and the production of technologies for the
ecological transition. The strategic challenge lies in bringing
completion of the work on the docks, a path that starts with
the investment of 92 million euros for the north quay of the
port of call.
In addition, the 2026-2028 Three-Year Operational Plan also dedicates
specific attention to the ports of call in the Tuscan archipelago of
Portoferraio, Rio Marina, Cavo and Capraia with the aim of
development of clean mobility models and
capable of protecting the natural heritage without slowing down
the economy of the islands.
