On Monday, CountEmissionsEU, the
European Union methodology for calculating gas emissions
greenhouse of freight and passenger transport services defined by
European Regulation No. 1030 of 29 April on
accounting for greenhouse gas emissions from services
of transport. The system is based on the standard
EN ISO 14083:2023 and aims to collect
accurate, comparable and reliable emissions data from all
mode of transport by calculating door-to-door emissions.
The publication of information on greenhouse gas emissions
greenhouse produced by transport services is voluntary, but if
a company decides to calculate and disclose information
on its greenhouse gas emissions or is invited to
to do so, he will have to use the methodology provided. The new
applies to European companies reporting for obligations
contractual or voluntarily for commercial purposes,
produced by transport, to data intermediaries, to developers
of calculation tools, third-party database developers and
conformity assessment bodies.
The system provides for the collection of transport data
carried out, starting from the type of vehicle used, from the distance
traveled, by the load transported, by the filling factor of the
and fuel consumption and therefore the calculation of the
based on EN ISO 14083:2023 which establishes
rules and principles for calculating emissions worldwide for
transport operations on the basis of the principle "from the shaft"
to the wheel", i.e. during the entire production process
from extraction to service use
of transport.
