
The shipping company Compagnie Maritime Nantaise - MN of
French group Sogestran today announced an agreement to
strategic partnership with the Italian Avio, active in the
space propulsion, which will lead to a contract for the
transport of the Vega C launcher between Italy and Kourou, Guyana
French, in South America, for the next five years. MN has
highlighted that the new agreement strengthens cooperation between the
two companies, which has been going on for over 15 years, and that the new contract
will be implemented through the Africa Global Logistics (AGL) of the
MSC group.
For transports MN will use the ro-ro ship MN
Hummingbirds. The French company has announced that it has nevertheless
intention to equip itself with a new ship specifically designed
to meet the needs of transporting space equipment,
such as satellites and launchers.
