A third tanker was hit by a bomb in the
Gulf of Oman while it was 21 nautical miles from the Sohar. Also
this third attack was claimed by the U.S. Central
Command stating that the ship had violated the naval blockade against
Iran attempting to transport Iranian oil. The tanker hit
it is the
Jalveer flying the flag of Guinea-Bissau.
Centcom specified that a US aircraft launched two
Hellfire missiles that hit the ship's engine room after
that the crew had repeatedly refused to obey the
orders from American forces.
Centcom reiterated that even
the attacks of US aircraft against Marivex ships
and Settebello, which took place respectively on Monday and
on Tuesday, were carried out because the first ship
had violated the naval blockade by trying to reach a port
Iranian, while the second had tried to transport oil
Iranian.
The US Central Command announced that
Since the beginning of the naval blockade, established on 13 April, the forces of
Centcom have taken nine ships out of action, diverted 135 ships and
allowed the passage of 42 ships carrying humanitarian aid.
