
Today, at the Albanian ship yard of Pashaliman, Fincantieri, KAYO, a company specialized in the development of strategic industrial infrastructure controlled by the Albanian Ministry of Defense, and the Professional Institute "Pavarësia" of Valona, have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at the development of training activities and educational paths dedicated to shipbuilding and shipbuilding.
The agreement represents a further step in the path of industrial collaboration initiated by Fincantieri in the Balkan Country and aims to develop the professional skills necessary to support the growth of the new local shipbuilding capacity. The memorandum provides for the collaboration between the parties for the start of training modules, internships and educational initiatives dedicated to the students of the Professional Institute, with the possibility to develop, following the pilot phase, a specialized path dedicated to shipbuilding and shipbuilding. Through this initiative, Fincantieri will provide its industrial and technological know-how by contributing to the definition of training content, the updating of the teaching staff and the dissemination of the skills necessary to support the development of the future local production capacity.
The initiative is part of the wider industrial project developed by Fincantieri and KAYO for the relaunch and modernization of the construction site of Pashaliman, in Valona, destined to become a productive pole specialized in the construction and maintenance of naval units for Defense, with particular focus on the segment of Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV).
In the course of today's ceremony it has been announced that is Fincantieri Albania the name of the joint venture constituted from Fincantieri and KAYO announced recently with the objective to guide the path of relaunch and modernization of the yard of Pashaliman(
of 29 April 2026).
