With controls on board the flag-flying container carrier MSC Ellen X carried out this week, during the of which some deficiencies with respect to the standards have been ascertained the Genoa Coast Guard has reached the number of one hundred Port State Control (PSC) inspections carried out since the beginning of this year. More than half of the ships inspected are from container ships. This is followed by general cargo ships, yachts bulk carriers and oil tankers, as well as other types of units. In terms of flags, Liberia (30%), Malta (23%) and Panama (8%) are the most represented. How much to the main categories of deficiencies, 60 relate to certificates and on-board documentation, 26 MARPOL environmental legislation, 25 i fire-fighting systems, 15 rescue vehicles and 11 the conditions of life and work governed by the MLC Convention 2006.
