Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin assured that the reduction in resources for wind power is temporary and will be reinstated during 2027. This was underlined by the president of the Port System Authority, Giovanni Gugliotti, referring to the communications sent by the Ministry of the Environment and of Energy Security to the Port System Authorities of the Eastern Sicilian Sea and the Ionian Sea with which the ministry announced a downward remodulation with respect to resources initially available for infrastructural interventions for the development of the offshore supply chain, consisting of over 78 million euros, specifying that 24.4 million will go to the port of Augusta instead of the 49.8 million expected and 13.9 million will go to the port of Taranto million instead of 28.5 million euros.

The Port Authority of the Ionian Sea, which administers the port of call of Taranto, announcing the reassurance provided by the minister Pichetto specified that the offices of the same ministry have confirmed that the 2027 budget will be unchanged and that the 2026 expenditure reduction can be reinstated on the basis of of the timetables. "With a view to reinstatement - explained the president of the port authority - the Ministry has avoided to modify the strategic importance of the interventions and to invalidate the objectives of the measure provided for in Article 8 of the Decree-Law No. 181/2023. Even if the equipment available today on the related budget chapters of the MASE amounts to a total of to 38.3 million euros and the financing of the planned interventions for the port of Taranto alone, in 2026, they are reduced to 13.94 million euros - Gugliotti pointed out - the indications of the minister would seem to paint a less alarming picture".

From the conditional used by Gugliotti, however, it transpires that the reassurances provided by Minister Fratin do not reassure the everything. In fact, the Port Authority of the Ionian Sea has expressed the hope for a rapid and formal confirmation of the availability of resources from the 2027 financial statements so as to proceed with the the consequent definition of a stable financial framework, which - has recalled the institution - is an essential prerequisite for giving concrete implementation of the planned investments and allow the port to Taranto to play the strategic role that has been recognized in the development of the offshore wind supply chain.

Gugliotti also invited the minister to reassure that the Taranto community: «It could be - said the president of the Port Authority - for to clarify the development plans for offshore wind in Italy, the presence of the Minister at the upcoming Offshore event Wind Revolution, which will take place in Taranto on 8 and 9 October forthcoming. We are convinced that an overall clarification is necessary for a port and a city that have suffered too many in the past the negative consequences of changes of plans".
