Le ripercussioni degli attacchi terroristici all'America dello scorso 11 settembre sui traffici container transpacifici sono state marginali. Un'analisi del Research Co-operation Office della compagnia di navigazione giapponese Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) mostra come nell'intero 2001 il traffico eastbound dall'Asia agli Stati Uniti sia ammontato a 7.116.374 container da venti piedi, con un incremento dell'1,2% rispetto ai 7.033.975 teu dell'anno precedente. Il traffico westbound dagli USA all'Asia è stato pari a 3.199.313 teu, con una flessione dello 0,3% rispetto ai 3.209.915 teu del 2000.
Nell'ultimo trimestre del 2001 il volume eastbound è stato pari a 1.808.411 teu (+0,2%), mentre quello westbound si è attestato a 824.727 teu (-1,1%). |
