Nel secondo trimestre il porto di Hong Kong ha movimentato 5,1 milioni di teu (+7%)
Il traffico merci è ammontato complessivamente a 51,2 milioni di tonnellate (+4%)

Nel secondo trimestre di quest'anno il porto di Hong Kong ha registrato un traffico merci di 51,2 milioni di tonnellate, con un incremento del 4% rispetto al corrispondente periodo del 2002. Le importazioni sono ammontate a 31,6 milioni di tonnellate (+2%) e le esportazioni a 19,6 milioni di tonnellate (+8%).
Nel diffondere i dati sull'attività portuale il Census and Statistics Department di Hong Kong ha precisato che, depurato dagli effetti della stagionalità del traffico, il volume movimentato nel secondo trimestre di quest'anno risulta inferiore del 6% rispetto a quello totalizzato nel trimestre precedente e importazioni ed esportazioni risultano in calo rispettivamente del 9% e dell'1%.
Nel periodo aprile-giugno di quest'anno il porto di Hong Kong ha movimentato 5,1 milioni di teu, con una progressione del 7% rispetto al secondo trimestre del 2002. I container pieni sono stati pari a 4,1 milioni di teu (+6%), quelli vuoti a un milione di teu (+9%). Gli sbarchi di container pieni sono ammontati a 1,9 milioni di teu (+8%) e gli imbarchi di container pieni a 2,2 milioni di teu (+6%). Senza gli effetti della stagionalità del traffico la movimentazione di container pieni risulta complessivamente in calo del 2% rispetto al primo trimestre di quest'anno, con importazioni ed esportazioni di container pieni entrambe in flessione del 2%.
Nel secondo trimestre del 2003 sono arrivate nel porto di Hong Kong 8.700 navi oceaniche (-4%), per un totale di 73,6 milioni di tonnellate di stazza netta (-2%). Le navi fluviali sono state 43.610 (-6%) per 20,8 milioni di tsn (-9%).
