Lo scorso anno il porto di Hong Kong ha registrato un traffico di 220,9 milioni di tonnellate di merci (+6%)

Lo scorso anno il porto di Hong Kong ha movimentato 220,9 milioni di tonnellate di merci, con un incremento del 6% rispetto al 2003. I dati statistici definitivi relativi al traffico totalizzato dallo scalo asiatico - resi noti venerdì scorso dal Census and Statistics Department di Hong Kong - mostrano per gli sbarchi un totale di 134,9 milioni di tonnellate (+5%) e per gli imbarchi 86,0 milioni di tonnellate (+9%).
Il traffico oceanico ha totalizzato un traffico di 158,6 milioni di tonnellate (+7%). Da rilevare come nell'ultimo trimestre del 2004 questo tipo di traffico abbia rilevato un calo del 2% a 38,8 milioni di tonnellate.
Lo scorso anno sono risultati particolarmente consistenti gli incrementi delle importazioni di merci da Australia (+29%), Malaysia (+19%), Singapore (+17%) e Stati Uniti (+17%) e delle esportazioni verso Australia (+39%), Singapore (+26%), Tailandia (+21%), Malaysia (+18%) e Stati Uniti (+11%).
Nel 2004 il porto di Hong Kong ha totalizzato una movimentazione container pari a 21.984.000 teu (+8%), di cui 17,9 milioni di teu pieni (+8%) e 4,1 milioni di teu vuoti (+5%). Nell'ultimo trimestre dello scorso anno il traffico è ammontato a 5.595.000 teu (+4%), di cui 4,5 milioni di teu pieni (+3%) e 1,1 milioni di teu vuoti (+11%).
