Nel 2004 i porti dell'Arabia Saudita hanno movimentato 119.944.611 tonnellate di merci, con un incremento del 6,3% rispetto a 112.826.935 tonnellate nell'anno precedente (inforMARE del 22 marzo 2003). Le esportazioni sono ammontate a 76.495.882 tonnellate (+7,3%), le importazioni a 43.448.729 tonnellate (+4,6%).

La movimentazione dei container è stata pari a 3.185.699 teu, con una progressione del 30,5% rispetto al 2003.

Il porto di Jeddah ha registrato un traffico di 33.505.333 tonnellate, con una progressione del 19,1% rispetto al 2003. Lo scalo ha movimentato 2.425.930 teu (+36,5%), di cui 1.177.822 teu in transhipment (+78,8%)
