È in forte crescita il numero dei crocieristi che scelgono di imbarcarsi nei porti di New Orleans e New York. Lo scorso anno i due scali hanno registrato rispettivamente un aumento del 33% e del 27% del traffico dei passeggeri delle crociere rispetto al 2003. Lo ha rilevato ieri la statunitense Maritime Administration (Marad) presentando uno studio statistico sul traffico crocieristico nordamericano.
Lo scorso anno il traffico di crocieristi nordamericani è aumentato del 12,8% a 9.417.000 passeggeri, contro 8,3 milioni di passeggeri nel 2003.
Anche nel 2004 i porti della Florida hanno totalizzato la maggior quota di traffico nonostante le partenze da Miami siano diminuite del 10%. Inoltre i Caraibi occidentali sono stati nuovamente la destinazione maggiormente scelta dai crocieristi.
