In the 2010 harbour terminal of the Eurogate group they have enlivened 12.629.986 container (+1.4%)



Last year the harbour terminals of the German group Eurogate have enlivened a traffic of the container pairs to 12.629.986 teu, with a progression of 1.4% regarding 2009. Excluding the volumes (451,921 teu in 2009) enlivened in the port of Livorno from the branch Contship Italy, than in 2010 own participation in the society has yielded Terminal Dock Tuscany (TDT) (inforMARE on September 17, 2010), last year the traffic enlivened from the German group has recorded an increment of 5.2% on 2009.

The German terminals of Eurogate have enlivened altogether 6.990.925 teu (+4.7% on 2009), of which 4.871.297 teu in the port of Bremerhaven (+7.4%) and 2.119.628 teu in the port of Amburgo (- 0.9%).

In Italy the branch Contship Italy, than work five container terminal in the ports of Gioia Tauro, La Spezia, Ravenna, Cagliari and Salerno, has enlivened 4.727.625 teu (+0.8%).

For this reason we assist with great worry to the delays in the dredging of the navigation channels of Elba and the Weser. The line companies our customers are climbing in our ports with ships that are more and more large and that they anticipate a greater draught: from 2006 today they have been very 190 those with a cargo ability of beyond 10.000 teu. If in future our ports container will offer better accessibility this will strengthen their competitiveness in the long term".
