At the conference sull'Interporto Termini Imerese. held yesterday at the Chamber of Commerce of Palermo, the Sicilian Regional Minister for Economy, Gaetano Armao, confirmed the financial commitment for the realization of the Sicilian Region Interporto. "At the regional resources available - said the commissioner - should be added the € 48,866,160 under the ERDF OP 2007-2013, already established at the time, financial forecast that was also confirmed in the remodeling of the fund allocated to Sicily and shared by the Monitoring Committee on 30 April. "
For the realization Interporto required an investment of approximately € 78 million. Funding from the ERDF OP 2007-2013 consists of a requested Community contribution amounts to € 24,433,080 and an equal amount paid by state subsidy. The public contribution of the Sicilian Region amounted to € 15,000,000, while the remaining investment will be guaranteed by subscription by the Company of Freight Siciliani Spa (SIS) of a loan following the opening of a line of credit.
"Reassuring, therefore, all public and private - Armao said - for this important initiative will continue to support the region's commitments to the achievement of a major logistics plate of the utmost importance, which is a qualifying element of the broader and detailed plan of Sicily and the transport of growth in the Termini Imerese. This initiative could be strengthened by further simplification of rules that we have planned in the draft law on investment related to the regional financial institution, which establishes the rules for the industrial area of Termini Imerese.
The conference was held to coincide with the start of the race by the Society of Freight Siciliani Spa for the award of design and final Interporto Termini Imerese, for the realization of the work involved and the functional and economic management infrastructure for a period not exceeding 25 years. Requests for expressions of interest must be submitted by June 7.
