Two new cranes of dock for the container Vecon terminal



Today, after a long journey of 3.800 miles in barge from Great Yarmouth (United Kingdom), has reached in the port of Venice two new cranes of destined ship-to-Shore dock the container terminal Vecon (Venice Container Terminal), that it is controlled by group PSA of Singapore.

Draft of an investment of 15 million euros that in the past couple of years grow to a total of 25 million euro the investments realized in the Venetian terminal for the crane purchase, in civil work in the expansion area, in rubberizing cranes of large square, new towings and other operating means.

The new cranes, that they have a weight of 1.150 tons each, are produced by Chinese ZPMC and have sbraccio an operating side sea of 36 meters, a rise height under spreader of a 30 meters and cargo capacity under spreader of 45 tons.

The two new cranes will join to the four existing near the dock of the Vecon terminal.

Receiving with satisfaction the investment of Vecon and emphasizing that "group PSA and its partners confirm the continuous engagement in order to light guarantee an adequate answer to the demanded increasing of the market and to the expectations of own customers in the port of Venice also - and above all - of the optimal results obtained from the port of call and to the perspectives of increase tied particularly to the lines directed with Far East", the Harbour Authority of Venice has announced that also to April the traffics have maintained a trend positive. The harbour agency has specified that, "on the base of the data collected to April 2011, in fact, in the Venetian port of call the traffics is increased of 16% regarding the same period of the year precedence, with beyond 262 thousand tons of goods enlivened in more".

"The increase of the commercial field, than in April 2011 has recorded an increase regarding the same month of 2009 of 11.1%, pairs to 117 tons - it has explained the Harbour Authority - compensates the contraction of the traffic of industrial field (- 23.7% pairs to 75.000 tons) legacy to the course of the industry of Marghera. Liquid bulk handlings grow also (+41%), in particular crude oil (+2.2%) and produced refined (+88.6%); trend of increase confirmed also for cereals (+990%). The field of the container, in particular evidence, has made to record to April 2011 an increase of 11.9% (3,519 teu in more) that April 2011 carries to an increase of 26% (pairs to 31.000 teu) in the first four months of the year (January/). The traffic fleeting more maintains to the trend than positive with an increase of 15.7% (+17% the croceristi) also for the April month".
