The port of Taranto tightens the ties with China

Last month the president of the Harbour Authority of Taranto, Sergio Prete, on invitation of the Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI), has carried out a visit in China where he has held a series of conferences, seminaries and lessons. The visit re-enters in the within of the protocol of understanding signed between the SISI and the apulian Harbour Authority in last month of june, when a delegation of the Italian agency has participated to Shanghai to the "Transport Logistic China 2012", one of the more important fairs of the marine transport and the logistics. The understanding previews the collaboration between the two truths in order to develop common plans in the academic, industrial and commercial field (of the 11 june 2012).

During the visit Priest it has held a workshop series during which it has introduced to the SISI, let alone with the entrepreneurial and institutional representatives of Shanghai, the port of Taranto and its Triennial Operations plan 2012-2014, evidencing as its I use, regarding the ports of Antwerp and Amburgo, already today a remarkable saving of time and money in order to make can allow with the Chinese operators to arrive their goods to Monk in Germany. Moreover the Logistics and Maritime Transport Working Group of the European Chamber of Commerce of Shanghai, united to the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, inside has organized a meeting classified to the operators of the field of which it is introduced the port of Taranto and its potentialities which hub European for the shipping and the logistics.

Al term of its visit in China, Sergio Prete is named member of the "Committee of the Experts" of the Shanghai International Shipping Institute, first European to receive this important acknowledgment.

Next March some members of the SISI will take part of the Chinese delegation that will be in visit in Apulia, and in particular near the port of Taranto, in the within of the program of promotion of the internationalization of local the productive systems, logistic field, organized from the Region Apulia. The invitation to the mission of incoming in Apulia will be extended also to some members of the SIPG (Shanghai International Port Group) let alone to the Harbour Authorities of Shanghai and Shenzhen.
