The Harbour Authority of Venice has sent to the Commission of VIA the clarifications demanded on the project of adaptation of the Twisted Channel S. Angelo



Last night the Harbour Authority of Venice has sent to the Commission of Appraisal of Environmental impact the documentation useful to satisfy all the clarifications demanded on the project of "watery Adaptation via of access to the marine station of Venice and requalification of the bordering areas to the Twisted Channel Sant'Angelo" that it is introduced by the Venetian harbour agency the Ministry of the Atmosphere ( on 16 September 2014) and that, in order to institute a water way alternative to the current one for the access of the fleeting ships to the Marine Station of Venice, it previews the adaptation of the navigation channel Which contorted S. Angel and the requalification of the bordering areas. The project has been born from the state necessity to apply in the short possible time decrees to Clini- Passera characterizing a way alternative of fleeting access to the port that meanwhile moves away the great ships from San Marco, safeguarding the harbour excellence crocieristica Venetian and Italian.

The Harbour Authority has explained that the integrating documentation is written up in the times previewed thanks to the collaboration of the competent institutions for law to guarantee the safeguard of the lagoon (former Provveditorato OO.PP Magistrate to Waters) and safety of navigation (Harbour office) as well as of scientific institutions (Corila, University and CNR) that they for a long time maintain to study programs on the lagoon atmosphere and its safeguard. I hope at last that the times previewed from the law are respected and that the answer on 10 April arrives within (30 days) in way such to avoid that lasting of the uncertainty ulteriorly gets worse the situation that has seen (from the application of the Clini Passera today) contrare itself of 14% the level of crocieristica activity to occupied Venice and the loss of 594, in order to count only those direct ones".

The harbour authority has evidenced moreover as the mass of collected or written up studies for the occasion allows to emphasize the great naturalistic valence of the project that is able "to transform" the escavo of a channel in the occasion for the start of the morphologic reconstruction, biological and naturalistic of the reduced central lagoon in conditions of degradation from a uncontrolled activity of exploitation, often fraudulent.
