Launched in Japan before the four new Supramax ships of the fleet of dACC Maritime



Today in the Oshima ship yard of Nakasaki the DACC is launched Tyrrhenian, the first Supramax ship of the fleet of dACC Maritime the Limited, joint venture constituted in June 2013 by the Coeclerici groups and of Friend ( on 13 June 2013).

The ship has a gross capacity of 60 thousand tons, a length of 200 meters and a width of 32,26 meters. The armament and the technical management of the Tyrrhenian DACC and next the three Maritime ships that will take part of the fleet dACC are entrusted to the group of Friend who will operate through the controlled Ishima Ship Management Pte Ltd of Singapore that also has supplied to the supervision of the construction. The business activity will be entrusted to the desks chartering and operations of the group of Friend.

dACC Maritime it has explained that under the profile of the energy saving and the consumption the Tyrrhenian DACC is prepared with a Man/B&W engine type ME of last generation, electronic and to low turns, than, associated to other innovative solutions relatively to the hull and to the propulsion propeller, it affords to achieve a cruise speed of about 14,5 knots with a daily fuel consumption of about 25 tons, that it represents a saving of about 6/7 tons of fuel regarding similar and modern ships, currently in exercise.

Moreover, between the measures adopted regarding possible marine contaminations and injurious emissions, the ship is equipped of compartments dedicated to the recovery and treatment of waters of washing of the holds loaded let alone of all those apt constructive characteristics to the attainment of the equipments of class ENVIRO (certification warehouses oils and fuel to double plating) and GP (certification that indicates the absence in the construction of harmful matters for the atmosphere or polluting agents).

The second twin ship will be taken in delivery the next september and a third and fourth unit will be operating in the second half of 2016.
