GPH confirmation of having in course negotiations in order to acquire ulterior participation in the crocieristici terminals of the Italian ports



In the first semester of this year the harbour terminals of the Turkish group Global Investment Holdings (GPH) have enlivened a traffic of the container pairs to 105 thousand teu, decreasing regarding almost 109 thousand teu totaled in the first half of 2015. The enlivened crocieristico traffic from the terminals of the group instead is increased of +1.2% being is pairs to 1,8 million passengers regarding 1,6 million passengers in the first six months last year.

The Turkish group has archived item the first semester of 2016 with revenues pairs to 280,5 million Turkish Liras (84 million euros), with an increment of +20% regarding 234,1 million Turkish Liras in the first half last year. The EBITDA is piled to 79,3 million Turkish Liras (+2%). GPH has closed the first six months of this year with a net loss pairs to -45,1 million Turkish Liras respect to a net loss of -51,6 million Turkish Liras in the correspondent period of 2015.

In the first semester of the 2016 single harbour division it has recorded revenues pairs to 153,9 million Turkish Liras (+28%), an EBITDA pairs to 83,1 million Turkish Liras (+34%) and a result of sign negative for clearly -4,5 million Turkish Liras respect to a net loss of -4,4 million Turkish Liras in the first six months of 2015. The group has specified that the increase of the volume of transactions is attributable mainly to the segment of the cruises.

Commenting the results achieved in the first half of this year the financial director of the group turci, Kerem Eser, has evidenced the importance of the recent acquisition by GPH of a quota in the society that manages the passenger terminal of the port of Venice ( on 10 May 2016): "the terminal - it has explained - is in a strategic position, not only because of the oneness of Venice, but also for its localization. Venice - Eser has remembered - attracts 22 million tourists per year and the Venice Passenger terminal enlivens 1,6 million these tourists annually as it has happened in 2015. Moreover Venice is one of the rare crocierisiche destinations of excellence, where the center of the city and the port is closely legacies".

Eser has confirmed that group GPH has in course negotiations in order to acquire ulterior participation in crocieristici terminals of other Italian ports, between which Brindisi, Cagliari, Catania and Ravenna. "After Venice Passenger terminal, and once that the acquisitions in other Italian ports will come capacities to term - it has emphasized the GPH leader - preview that the traffic of the passengers enlivened from Global Ports will go up to the astonishing quota 7,5 million".
