Increase of the results of the Bureau Veritas group in the second half of the year of 2016



In the second half of the year last year the society of classification and certification Bureau Veritas (BV) has recorded an improvement of the economic performances that has determined a rise of the total results of the exercise anniversary 2016. Last year the revenues have turned out almost stable being piled to 4,55 billion euros, with a decrease of the -1,8% on 2015 (to constant change turn out an increment of +1.4% of the volume of transactions). The profit clearly has been attested to 319,4 million euros (+25.1%), while the clearly rectified profit has turned out pairs to 409,0 million euros (- 2.7%).

"In 2016 - the managing director of the French group has commented, Didier Michaud-Daniel - Bureau Veritas has demonstrated own solidity in spite of the difficulties in the segment of the commodities and the market of the shipping. Many of the activities in the pocketbook of the group have had a good year, in particular the fields Products Consumer, IVS, Sour and Certification. Exercise 2016 - it has emphasized - has been shut with an increase and a profit online with our last forecasts, with a tendency to the improvement of the organic increase in the course of the last trimester".

Michaud-Daniel has announced that in 2016, with a 16.0% of the total, China has become the first Country for Bureau Veritas in terms of turnover.

Last year in the single Offshore field Marine & the group has recorded a turnover of 391,9 million euros, down of the -3,3% on 2015 (- 0.6% to constant change). Al 31 last December the consistency of the fleet in class BV turned out pairs to 11.345 ships (+0.4%) for a total of 113,9 million tons of tonnage (+4.4%). The French group has specified that last year an increase of the fleet in class is recorded, effect that but is counterbalanced by the increase of the number of ships placed in disarmament and gives it decrease to two figures of the services for the customers of the offshore section.

The new orders obtained from the Offshore division Marine & have turned out in decided bending being piled to 1,9 million tons of tonnage regarding 6,9 million tsl in 2015. Bureau Veritas has specified that 2016 have been a particularly difficult year for the field of the new shipbuilding and that this is mirrored in particular on the new orders of rinfusiere and portacontainer, ship types that together constitute 13% of the ships in class in terms of number of ships.

The French group considers that in the 2017 market of the shipping and the offshore industry it will continue to show difficulty, in particular for types of ships as portarinfuse and the portacontainer, with an impact negative that will be mitigated by the segment of the fleeting ships. If BV previews that the segment of the services for the shipping will suffer less of the difficulties of the market regarding the offshore segment, the group considers that a positive contribution can reach from the effect of the dispositions introduced from the normative new.
