Introduced to Naples the European project PortForward for the competitive improvement of harbour infrastructures



This morning near the center of the Authority of Harbour System of the Tyrrhenian Sea Central the European project of search and innovation "PortForward - Towards to green and sustainable ecosystem for the Future EU Port is introduced of the" that it is finalized to the competitive improvement of harbour infrastructures. The of Campania AdSP participates in quality of beneficiary to the project that is coordinated by the German research center Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation IFF and relatively to the harbour system it lives is coadiuvato in the performance of own activities from the partner of project MAR.TE. Sea-Land Logistics, presided by Marco Ferretti of the Parthenope University.

For everyone of the ports participants to the project they will be developed of the cases study with the objective on one side to identify constraints deriving from the processes and the strategies of management, in harbour within, from the other to implement solution technological innovative for the competitive increase of the port of call. In particular, to the partner of Fraunhofer project the case is up study of the port of Magdeburgo, to the Spanish society of constructions Acciona Construcciòn the ports of the Balearic ones, to the Brunel University London the port of Vigo, to the AdSP of the Tyrrhenian Sea Northern the port of Livorno, while to the MAR.TE the cases are up study of the ports of Naples and Salerno

The project aimed to experiment, in the involved ports, intelligent solutions "smart", interconnected "interconnected" and greens "green", in order to improve the conditions of monitoring, efficiency in the terminals and verification of the conditions for the navigability and the operativity of the ports of call. In order to achieve such objective, the project realizes: solutions IoT (Internet of Things); assistance and remote control from of harbour terminals and channels; truth increased for operators and administrations, to the aim to control in real time you space and superficial harbour.

As for the main projects of innovation, also PortForward intends to develop a layer (layer) of sensors in IoT logic, a connectivity layer to middleware in order to return the sources of data truly available is diffused in the sedime harbour, and at last a cloud in order to try the information and to create a System of Support to Decisions (DSS) in a position to helping the administrations in the management of the operativity of the port.

"Our adhesion to the project - the president of the AdSP of the Tyrrhenian Sea has explained Central, Pietro Spirito - is twofold: to create a strait connection between Authority of Harbour System, operators, applied search as it is that today is anticipated; to use the analyses and the proposals that will emerge from the search in order to improve the management of the AdSP".

Relatively to the harbour system it lives, scope of the project is to define the factors of competitiveness of the ports centralized on the specificities of the territory being characterized the more incisive methodologies of participation in order to improve the aspects legacies to the sustainability of the ports, to the productivity of the docks, the flows of traffic on the piers.

The initiative among other things previews the administration of a questionnaire to the operators of the port of Naples in order to verify state of the art and in order to comprise the requirements of the single entrepreneurs in order then to elaborate of the proposals.
