Ready before the summer the new Fast Ferry Terminal of the port of Trapani



The next May will be completed, before the summer, new Trapani Fast Ferry Terminal for the passengers who attend in order to embark themselves for the Egadi. The participation previews the positioning of a long structure the Dock Customs and the substitution of a portion of the paving pre-exists in dock for ulterior 443 square metres regarding the surface occupied from the terminal that is of 686 square metres. The project, of imminent completion, is shaped as trilite that it accommodates to its inside various functions, between which: a ticket office to the place setting with eight emplacements, a zone of external pause to the place setting with wide sat in wood, a bar with area of mescita in the open air and a waiting room which air-conditioned for some 70 people, with annexed toilets.

Moreover the Authority of Harbour System of the Sea of Western Sicily has in program the restyling of the existing marine station of the harbour port of call, from years lacking in a substantial inadequate maintenance and to the current logistic requirements, and of the external areas of pertinence. The executive planning of Trapani Cruise - RoRo Terminal will be completed the next April and the previewed cost is of three million euro.

The AdSP has started also the propedeutiche procedures on the dredging of the port in order to inside guarantee the depth of -11 meters in the outer harbor and -10 meters of the port. The sediments to enliven will be about 1.300.000 cubic metres. For the improvement of the maneuvers of income and mooring also of ships of large dimensions, it will be proceeded to the "salpamento" of great part of the Ronciglio pier, so as to guarantee a channel of access to the width port pairs to about 250 meters.

At last the AdSP has started the contacts with the School Polytechnic of the University of Palermo for the editing of the Town development plan of Harbour, complete System of all the foundations, also progettuali, propedeutici to the editing of the new Town development plan of the port of Trapani (that current one goes back to 1962).

Introducing today the participations previewed for the port of Traspani the president of the AdSP of the Sea of Western Sicily, Pasqualino Monti, and the mayor of Trapani, Giacomo Tranchida, has signed also an agreement for the programming in synergy of the interface areas city-port. "Draft - Monti has explained - of a useful agreement for the location of strategies of economic and productive development tied to the interaction between the port and the territory. A common vision on the future scenes of development of two intimately bound entity: city and port, through a perspective and new search innovative for a so ancient binomial. The new marine fronts of the harbour cities come today intended not more as last, and sometimes opened, layers of a rich history city but, as in the past, authentications doors to sea, finally rethought and redesigned as unknown hearts of a social life that recovers denied or almost inaccessible spaces in order time too much".

Our approach previews confronts with all the involved agencies and with the operators but, after the sharing, it must proceed in sent way in order to recover the lost time".
