
The 2022 was a record year for Costamare, a company that owns a fleet of portacontainer rented to other companies and that in 2021 it entered also in the field of the portarinfuse acquiring 45 rinfusiere that now flank the 72 portacontenitori of ownership. Last year, in fact, it was archived with the new historical peak of revenues that for the first time exceeded the billion dollars going up to 1,11 billion, with an increment of +40.3% on 2021. New records were also marked by the operating profit and the net profit attested respective to 662,2 million (+50.1%) and 554,7 million dollars (+27.5%).
The 2022 began in the wake of the remarkable progression of the financial performances recorded already in the previous year, trend that has faded in the course of last year with a fourth trimester that has been closed with a decrease of the -6,5% of the revenues, results pairs to 265,4 million dollars regarding 283,9 million in the last trimester of 2021.
"With regard to the portacontainer - the financial director of Costamare has commented, Gregory Zikos - the 2022 has been an exceptional year, with a first semester that has benefited of favorable market conditions, with a high demand and logistic dysfunctions that have continued to affect the field, while in the course of the second semester the rates of rent and the values of the assets are normalized following the reduction of the demand of goods and of the previously blocked". Regarding the bulkers, Zikos has specified that Costamare has recently activated its new operating platform for this segment and - it has explained - the goal of the company "is to grow the activity according to criteria of prudence, realizing useful for our shareholders". Moreover Zikos has announced that, on the stocks of a greater liquidity and of the contractual agreements in existence for the fleet of portacontainer, Costamare is evaluating "new investment opportunity in the field of the shipping that have the potential to provide a greater yield to acceptable levels of risk".
