The Management Committee of the Port System Authority of the Southern Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas, which met yesterday, approved the ratification of the urgency variation of the 2024 budget of the entity which has provided, among the various measures, the allocation of one million of euros to be allocated to the reimbursement of anchorage fees to the shipping companies, lines or shipping consortia that carry out the freight transport activity in relation to its type of traffic in the ports of competence and which has implemented the increased revenue in the form of goods taxes and concession fees.

In addition, the variation of the Program was approved Three-year Operational Budget which has expanded the financing of the electrification project of the quay of port of Gioia Tauro, of which 18 million have already been assigned to the entity and, initially, deriving from the Cohesion Fund. The remaining 48 million euros have been provided by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, which has thus allocated the covering the entire financial package, but doing so derive from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Among the other items on the agenda, the Committee of has approved the request for the concession of an area state-owned property equal to 34,000 square meters in favor of Automar which will allow the company to significantly expand capacity of the terminal for the handling of cars in the port of Gioia Taurus.
