Eli Glickman has announced his resignation from the offices of managing director and executive president of the Israeli containerized shipping company ZIM that he covers since July 2017. Glickman will hold the post of CEO for a period of six months to ensure an orderly engagement.

Announcing his resignation yesterday, Glickman recalled that "in recent months the board of directors of the company has promoted a merger procedure with the Hapag-Lloyd"(of 16and 16February 2026). "Respect - said Glickman - the decision of the council. However - it has specified - after thinking I have come to the conclusion that I can not continue to cover the post of CEO of ZIM. I have always dedicated my soul and body to this role. For me leadership is not a title, but a commitment, and must be in line with the path that awaits us. One of my main objectives during this period was to help ensure the future of ZIM employees. Our employees also experienced a very difficult war period, and I felt a deep responsibility for driving firmly and attentively. With the process of transition in progress, I think this is the right time to turn page".

We recall that Glickman, along with Rami Ungar, had presented an offer to acquire the ZIM which had been rejected by the board of directors of the Israeli company(of 23 December 2025).
