 I traffici container nei principali porti della West Coast statunitense - Los Angeles e Long Beach - riflettono l'incertezza che mostra l'andamento dell'economia USA. Nello scorso giugno Los Angeles ha movimentato 435.246 teu, con un incremento dell'8,12% sui 402.557 teu totalizzati nel giugno 2000. Il traffico a Long Beach si è invece attestato sui 362.658 teu, con un calo del 3,26% rispetto ai 374.895 teu del giugno 2000, la seconda diminuzione consecutiva dopo la flessione registrata in maggio.
Nello scorso giugno le esportazioni e le importazioni sono entrambi cresciute a Los Angeles, mentre Long Beach ha registrato un volume di sbarchi analogo a quello del giugno 2000 e un calo del 5,9% delle esportazioni.
