I dati finali del traffico registrato dal porto di Rotterdam nel 2005

La Port of Rotterdam Authority ha comunicato oggi i dati finali del traffico realizzato dal porto olandese nel 2005, anticipati in forma provvisoria alla fine dello scorso anno (inforMARE del 30 dicembre 2005).

Lo scalo ha movimentato un volume record di 370.231.000 tonnellate di merci, con una crescita del 5% rispetto al 2004. Le esportazioni sono aumentate del 9%, le importazioni del 3,5%.

Sono risultate complessivamente in crescita sia le rinfuse (+4%) che le merci varie (+7%), grazie alla progressione del 10% del traffico containerizzato. Sono diminuiti i minerali e i rottami metallici (-3,5%), i carichi ro-ro (-9%) e le altre merci varie (-3%). Il traffico di greggio è rimasto stabile. Sono aumentate le rinfuse agricole (+1%), il carbone (+4%), le altre rinfuse secche (+3,5%), le altre rinfuse liquide (+5,5%) e gli oli minerali (+27%)

Il traffico dei container è stato pari a 9.286.756 teu (+12%).

Per il 2006 l'amministratore delegato della Port of Rotterdam Authority, Hans Smits, ritiene possibile un'ulteriore crescita del 3-4% del traffico delle merci, anche in considerazione del fatto che «le prospettive macroeconomiche stanno diventando sempre più favorevoli».
