Costa Crociere records an increment of +12.1% of the turnover and +18.0% of the passengers



In the fiscal year 2010 (period 1° Decembers 2009 - 30 November the 2010) consolidated turnover of the Costa Crociere Spa group has grown of 12.1% reaching 2,88 billion euros regarding 2,57 billion in the fiscal year precedence. The consolidated financial statement of exercise 2010 of the Italian crocieristica society, of which the marks Costa Crociere, AIDA Cruises and Iberocruceros take part, is approved of today by the assembly of the shareholders.

Last year treasurer the fleet of the group has accommodated 2.150.418 passengers, with an increase of 18.0% regarding 1.821.810 passengers in exercise 2009. The passengers/day are increased of 16.7% to 16.927.620 units regarding 14.504.998 in 2009. The occupation rate has been of 105%.

"The results obtained from our company in the last exercise - it has commented the president and managing director of Costa Crociere Spa, Pier Luigi Foschi - are indeed shining, if we consider the difficult context economic in which we have operated. In terms of hosts totals we have had an increase quite almost double regarding how much the entire market of the cruises in Europe has grown, with an increase of 18% against 10% of the European market. The reason of this success is from searching itself is in the excellent quality of our produced one, recognized and rewarded from our customers, that they remain faithful to our marks, than in the economic solidity and financial institution of our company, to guarantee of the realization of a vacation from dream".

Currently the fleet of the group is constituted by 25 ships (14 of Costa Crociere, seven of AIDA Cruises and four of Iberocruceros) and the company will take in delivery others five new ships within 2013 (two for Costa Crociere and three for AIDACruises). The first new ships to enter in service will be the next month the AIDASol, new ship of the fleet of AIDA Cruises constructed in the German yards Meyer Werft, and to the end of June Costa Favolosa, new flagship of the Costa Crociere fleet, constructed from Fincantieri to Marghera.

Costa Crociere has announced that in 2010 he has achieved an ulterior improvement also under the profile of the environmental engagement, with an increase of 3.1% regarding 2009 in terms of efficiency in the fuel burnups for boarded passenger, with consequent reduction of the produced emissions.
