a delegation of the port of Shanghai has visited the harbour port of call of Gioia Tauro



After the subscription of the agreement of twinning last February to Shanghai between the Harbour Authority of Gioia Tauro and that of the port of the Chinese city ( on 6 February 2013), according to institutional encounter between the two agencies one has yesterday carried out Gioia Tauro where the president of the authority calabra, Giovanni Grimaldi, accompanied from the general secretary Salvatore Silvestri, has received the representatives of the Shanghai Municipal Transport and Port Authority. To the reunion Domenico Bagalà has participated also, managing director of the Medcenter Container Terminal (MCT).

The objective of the visit has been that to continue to cover the road of the cooperation between the two agencies in order to favor and to stimulate the increase of the commercial exchanges between Asia and the Mediterranean being used the route of the Suez Canal and to introduce to know intimately the port of Gioia Tauro to the Chinese hosts, that they are accompanied in a visit to the harbour area. The Chinese delegation, besides the institutional personalities, was composed also from operating yearnings to know the Italian port from the infrastructural point of view.

In thanking the general manager of Port Authority di Shanghai, Giovanni Grimaldi has declared himself convinced that the cooperation between the two agencies "will be heralding of strategic agreements with Chinese operators of field interested to invest Gioia Tauro".
