In the first half of the 2019 harbour terminal of Eurokai they have enlivened six million container (+3.7%)



In the first semester of the 2019 harbour terminal that is under responsibility of the terminalista group German Eurokai they have enlivened a traffic of the container pairs to 6,01 million teu, with a progression of +3.7% on the first half last year. The relative data to the first six months of 2019 does not include the traffic enlivened in the port of Gioia Tauro from the Medcenter Container Terminal (MCT), society that has exited from the perimeter of consolidation of the German group as last April Contship Italy, that it is participated to 83.3% from Eurokai (of which 66.6% of vital directly and 16.7% through Eurogate of which Eurokai it stops 50% of the capital), has yielded own participation of 50% in the CSM Italy-Gate, holding that possesses the MCT, to the Terminal Investment Limited (TIL) of the shipowning group Helvetic Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC)(on 1° April 2019).

In the first half of this year the terminals of Eurokai in the German ports have enlivened 3,94 million teu, with an increment of +4.9%, of which 2,50 million teu enlivened in the port of Bremerhaven (- 7.6%), 1,08 million teu in the port of Amburgo (+42.0%) and 361 thousand teu in the port of Wilhelmshaven (+23.8%).

In the first semester of this year the terminals of the group in Italy, that they are managed through Contship Italy, have enlivened 1,00 million teu, with a decrease of the -3,1% on the traffic enlivened in the first six months of 2018 with the totaled exclusion of that to Joy tauro. In the port of La Spezia the traffic has been of 669 thousand teu (+1.8%), in the port of Salerno of 190 thousand teu (+9.3%), in the port of Ravenna of 91 thousand teu (- 2.5%) and in the port of Cagliari of 53 thousand teu (- 52.1%). In this last port, in which the group Container operated through the Cagliari International Terminal (CICT) of Contship Italy, collapse of the traffic is determined by the loss of the main customer, the company of German navigation Hapag-Lloyd, situation that total of the activity of terminalista society CICT with the 220 dependent of the company has carried to the arrest warrant that they are placed in extraordinary redundancy fund for business closing(on 3 September 2019).

In the first remaining half of the 2019 harbour terminal that is under responsibility to Eurokai they have enlivened a contanerizzato traffic pairs to 1,07 million teu (+6.1%), of which 768 thousand teu enlivened in the Moroccan port of Tanger Med (+12.0%), 200 thousand teu in the Cypriot port of Limassol (+2.0%), 70 thousand teu in the portuguese port of Lisbon (- 18.5%) and 29 thousand teu in the Russian port of Ust-Luga (- 24.6%).

In the first semester of this year the revenues of the Eurokai group are piled to 149,6 million dollars, with a decrease of the -10,5% on the correspondent period of 2018 deriving mainly from the deconsolidamento of MCT. The operating profit has been of 56,9 million euros (+152.8%) and the profit clearly of 51,5 million euros (+96.9%). To the increase of the results it has mainly contributed the returns deriving from the cession of share quotas (for 51,5 million regarding 26,2 million in the first half of 2018).

Contship Italy has closed the first semester of this year with revenues pairs to 145,2 million euros (- 10.3%) and with a result clearly of 55,2 million euros, with a rise of mainly generated +226.6% from the effect of the cession of MCT.
