In the second quarter of this year container rental company Textainer Group Holdings Ltd. has recorded an operating income of 81.3 million dollars on revenues of $ 105.7 million, an increase of 67.6%, respectively, and 41 , 7% of 41.2 million and 74.6 million dollars in the corresponding period of 2010. Net income amounted to U.S. $ 51.7 million (+106.2%).
In the first six months of 2011 Textainer recorded an operating profit of 134.7 million dollars on a turnover of 196.9 million dollars, with increases of 60.7% and 36.5% on first half 2010. The net profit was 88.9 million dollars (+80.2%).
Textainer, which is the world leader in the rental of intermodal containers with a fleet that consists of more than 1.6 million containers with a capacity of over 2.4 million TEUs, has announced that its demand for new containers for dry cargo began to decline during the second quarter of this year.The company stated that in the coming months so do not ordain new dry cargo containers. Different scenario for refrigerated containers, for which demand is still high: the company has ordered double the previous three full financial years and will be taken over by the end of this year.
