In the second quarter of this year the Israeli company Zim Integrated Shipping Services posted a net loss of $ 68 million on revenues of a billion dollars compared to a net profit of three million dollars on revenues of $ 933 million in the corresponding period of 2010. The operating loss was $ 79 million compared to net income of $ 46 million in the second quarter last year.
In the period April to June this year, the company's fleet delivered volumes of containerized cargo amounted to 596,000 TEUs, with an increase of 9.0% compared to 547,000 TEUs in the corresponding period of 2010. The average rent for 20 'containers (TEUs) amounted to $ 1,307, down 1, 6% compared to $ 1,328 in the second quarter last year.
