Signed an agreement in order to upgrade the railway system of the port of Genoa



Today Ministry of Infrastructures and the Transports, Italian Railway Net (RFI) and Authority of Harbour System of the Ligurian Sea Western has signed a convention in order to upgrade the railway system of the port of Genoa, in the area of Sampierdarena, and to favor the development of the intermodalità iron-sea with the performance of works that will demand a total investment of about 35 million euros.

With the agreement it is defined a cronoprogramma of the participations that a first phase finalized to the adaptation of the railway connection between the Rugna-Bettolo Park and the junction S. Limbania previews, that it gives continuity to the participations in course by RFI for the connection of the port with the railway park of the Campasso. Such works, relative with the increment of the shape limit, with the armament and the signaling, will allow to transport the container high cube through the gallery New Pier.

Previewed also a second relative phase to the planning and the realization of a new station in the zone of the current railway park of Fuorimuro.
