In July, the volume of foreign freight traffic handled by Chinese seaports grew by 10.2%

The only trade in goods abroad was handled last year month from Chinese ports was 406.2 million tonnes 363.1 million tonnes of which were handled by ports seafarers (10.2%) 43.1 million tonnes from the inland ports 8.4%). The largest volumes of international traffic were moved from the ports of Ningbo-Zhoushan with 49.0 million tonnes (up 12.1%), Qingdao with 38.7 million tonnes Shanghai with 34.9 million tonnes (up 1.1%), Tangshan 28.3 million tonnes (up 30.9%), Rizhao with 28.0 million tonnes Tianjin with 26.8 million tonnes (up 13.5%), Shenzhen with 17.2 million tonnes (up 9.9%) Dalian with 14.7 million tonnes (-1.5%).

In July 2020, the only containerized traffic handled Chinese ports amounted to 23.8 million Teu (4.6%), of which 21.2 million teu moved from the ports maritime authorities (5.4%) and 2.6 million teu from inland ports (-1.1%). The increased volumes of container traffic have been handled by Ports of Shanghai with 3.9 million teu (up 1.2%), Ningbo-Zhousan with 2.7 million teu (up 8.0%), Shenzhen with 2.4 million teu (up 5.7%), Guangzhou with 2.1 million teu (up 9.8%), Qingdao with 1.9 million Teu (4.4%), Tianjin with 1.7 million teu (up 9.6%) and Xiamen with 1.0 million teu (5.2%).

In the first seven months of 2020, total freight traffic Chinese ports was 8.01 billion tonne, an increase of 1.4% over the January-July period last year, of which 5.35 billion tonnes were handled seaports (1.5%) and 2.66 billion from the inland ports 1.2%).

The only international traffic of goods handled in the first seven months of this year amounted to 2.56 billion tonnes (up 3.3%), of which 2.30 billion tonnes were handled seaports (3.5%) 269.6 million tonnes from ports (1.9%). The largest traffic flows Ningbo-Zhousan (306.7 million tonnes, up 2.8 per cent, Qingdao (258.9 million tonnes, 6.8%), Shanghai (217.0 million tonnes, -7.4%), Rizhao (186.8 million tonnes, up 3.2%, Tanghsan (170.4 million tonnes) tonnes, 10.9%) Tianjin (163.9 million tonnes, up 5.1%).

In the first seven months of 2020, the total traffic 144.0 million teu (-3.8%), of which 128.2 million teu in seaports (-3.4%) 15.8 million teu in inland ports (-7.1%). The increased volume of traffic was handled in Shanghai with 24.0 million teu (-5.6%) followed by the ports of Ningbo-Zhoushan with 16.0 million teu (-2.8%), Shenzhen with 13.5 million teu (-8.2%), Guangzhou with 12.9 million teu (0%), Qingdao with 12.2 million teu (0.9%) Tianjin with 10.3 million teu (up 4.0%).
