
This morning in the port of Gioia Tauro was inaugurated the
new medical-health first aid facility whose management
was entrusted last March by the
Port System of the Southern Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas at the
temporary grouping of companies formed by Bourelly Health
Service Srl and Consorzio Sicilia for a duration of 24 months
extendable for a further two years.
The new service will ensure a
first aid medical and health care services to about 2,000 employees
of the Calabrian port of call and to all operators
port workers. The operational heart of the facility is a CMR ambulance
(Mobile Resuscitation Center) of the latest generation, equipped
with advanced technologies to deal with any type of
health emergency. The vehicle has a monitor-defibrillator
multi-parameter, electrocardiograph, pulmonary ventilator, pump
infusion, medical aspirator, continuous monitoring systems
of vital parameters, devices for traumatological immobilization and
adult and pediatric devices. Medicines complete the supply
life-saving systems, oxygen therapy systems,
advanced airway management and high-handling stretchers,
tools that will allow health teams, composed of
rescue driver, nurse and doctor, to intervene
quickly in the event of cardiac arrests, strokes, trauma, burns,
respiratory failure or sudden illness.
In addition, to support operational activities,
a first aid clinic has been set up completely
equipped with advanced emergency trolley and devices
state-of-the-art sanitary ware, designed to guarantee
even in the most critical situations. The garrison
will also be supported by a
advanced information technology for the management of healthcare activities,
with recording of the interventions carried out, monitoring of the
stocks and expiry dates of medical devices, archiving of
clinical reports and control of the consequent activities, in the
full compliance with privacy regulations.
