In the second quarter of 2026, the port of Civitavecchia
2.17 million tons of goods handled, with an increase
by +3.6% over the same period last year, of which 1.54
million tons of miscellaneous goods (0%), 375 thousand tons of
solid bulk (+23.4%) and 249 thousand tons of liquid bulk
(+1,5%).
In the first half of this year, the total number of loads
handled by the port of Civitavecchia was 3.93
million tons, with an increase of +1.5% on the first half
of 2025, of which 2.90 million tons of miscellaneous goods (+1.1%),
676 thousand tons of liquid bulk (+25.0%) and 347 thousand tons
of dry bulk (-24.1%).
The Port System Authority of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea
Settentrionale announced that in the first six months of 2026 the ports
of Civitavecchia, Fiumicino and Gaeta have enlivened
6.41 million tonnes (+5.7%) and
highlighted, in particular, the marked increase in bulk cargo
amounted to 2.70 million tonnes (+16.9%), driven by
from the growth of refined products. Container traffic is
state of over 60 thousand TEUs (+6.9%) and that of motor vehicles
437 thousand vehicles (+14.3%).
If in the first half of this year the traffic of the
passengers of scheduled maritime services has been
Civitavecchia of 510 thousand people (+4.4%), cruise traffic
in the three ports of the port system amounted to 1.55 million
of passengers (+9.0%), of which 791 thousand at disembarkation/embarkation (+15.6%) and
764 thousand in transit (+2.9%).
The port of Gaeta alone closed the first half of 2026 with
a traffic of 935 thousand tons of goods (+13.0%). The Port Authority
highlighted the growth of liquid bulk (+19.1%) and
dry bulk (+8.6%), as well as that of traffic
which rose to 2,339 passengers (+159.6%)
thanks above all to cruise passengers in transit. In the port of
Fiumicino freight traffic totaled 1.55 million
tonnes (+13.1%), consisting mainly of
refined products intended for the supply of the airport
Leonardo Da Vinci International Championship, and has also recorded the
handling of liquefied gases, absent in the same period
of the previous year.
