The partner of the initiative is Grand the Port Maritime de Marseille, the Harbour Authority of the Pireo, the Italian Regions Liguria, Calabria and Sicily, the Center of Regional Development of Koper and FEPORTS (Istituto Portuale of Studies and Cooperation of the Valenciana Community), that it is front man of the project.
The activity previews the identification of existing the marine lines short beam in the western Mediterranean and the analysis of the effectiveness of the 18 terminals for present containers in the basin. Draft of terminal in the ports of Alicante (2 terminals), Castellon (2), Genoa (2: VTE and Messina), Gioia Tauro (1: Medcenter Container Terminal), Koper (1), La Spezia (1: La Spezia Container Terminal), Marseilles (2), Palermo (1), Pireo (1), Pozzallo (1), Savona (1: Reefer Terminal) and Valencia (3).
Moreover TERCONMED short studies the possibilities of employment of the container from 45 feet for these traffics regarding the type of ships used currently on the marine lines beam.
The conclusion of the project is previewed for April 2012.
