The activity previews the identification of existing the marine lines short beam in the western Mediterranean and the analysis of the effectiveness of the 18 terminals for present containers in the basin. Draft of terminal in the ports of Alicante (2 terminals), Castellon (2), Genoa (2: VTE and Messina), Gioia Tauro (1: Medcenter Container Terminal), Koper (1), La Spezia (1: La Spezia Container Terminal), Marseilles (2), Palermo (1), Pireo (1), Pozzallo (1), Savona (1: Reefer Terminal) and Valencia (3).
Moreover TERCONMED short studies the possibilities of employment of the container from 45 feet for these traffics regarding the type of ships used currently on the marine lines beam.
The conclusion of the project is previewed for April 2012.
