Yesterday, the Miami-Dade County Commission passed a resolution that extends to September 30, 2021 (with possibility of renewal for two further periods of five years each) the current Terminal Usage Agreement (TUA) between the County and Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCCL ) according to which the American cruise company has preferential berthing terminals F and G of the Port of Miami, takes advantage of rebates on a range of port services and guarantees to the County take a certain minimum price of the rental of buildings in which houses the headquarters of Royal Caribbean.
In particular, the new agreement provides that the minimum income guaranteed by RCCL amounts to $ 12.5 million in fiscal 2011, $ 13 million in fiscal 2012 and $ 13.5 million in fiscal 2013. From the tax year 2014 to fiscal 2021, the company will guarantee a minimum annual traffic of 325,000 passengers and pour into the coffers of the County an annual sum of between $ 3.8 million in the first fiscal year of the period and almost five million dollars in recent years of the period.
