Provision of the Marine Authority in order to allow with the cruise ships to pause in front of Portofino



Today to Genoa admiral Felicio Angrisano, marine director of the Liguria and commander of the Harbour office of Genoa, and the lieutenant Emiliano Santocchini, head of the Arrondissement Marine and commanded of the port of Saint Margherita Ligure, has introduced the decree n. 25/2012 of Marine the Circondariale Office of Saint Margherita Ligure that includes the "Regulations for the operations of landing, anchorage and pause of the cruise ships in the zone and in the point of deep characterized in the oadstead of the Marconi Gulf for the operations of transfer of the passengers who approach the ports of Saint Margherita Ligure, Rapallo and Portofino".

The decree characterizes a deep point of, at a distance immediately advanced to 0,8 miles nautical from the external perimeter of the Marina Protetta Area of Portofino, on which the advanced ships to the 500 tons of tonnage must use up the anchor that they intend to disembark own passengers in the ports of Saint Margherita Ligure and Rapallo. The provision characterizes also an area so-called "Zone of deep", wide about 0,5 miles square and at a distance immediately advanced mail to 0,7 miles nautical from the external perimeter of the Marina Protetta Area of Portofino, destined to the pause of the ships and in which the ships that intend to disembark own passengers in the port of Portofino must use up the anchor.

Pause and anchorage are afforded for the time absolutely necessary for the boarding operations/disembarkation of the passengers and all the other connected operations, finalized to prevent situations of prejudice for safety of navigation, the human life in sea and for the marine ecosystem. Inside of the zone of deep they can be moored at the same time not more than two cruise ships, while the fleeting point of deep is destined to receive a single ship for time. Moreover the fixed decree a series of procedures and specific precautions for disciplining to navigation and the activity of disembarkation and boarding of the passengers, between which the definition of routes of approach and removal from the zone of deep.

The provision of Marine the Circondariale Office of Saint Margherita Ligure, that it is in vigor by 30 April, reaches in exception the so-called one "decrees 1°th March broken" signed from the ministers of the Atmosphere, Corrado Clini, and of the economic Development, Infrastructures and Transports, Corrado Passera, than fixed limits to the transit of the ships near national the protected areas and to particularly sensitive sites from the environmental point of view introducing a limit two miles away that the ships of advanced tonnage to the 500 tons must respect in proximity of the protected areas.

In the premises the decree of Marine the Circondariale Office of Saint Margherita Ligure evidences that for year 2012 they are already in programming beyond 100 demands for I approach of fleeting ships for the before deep zone of Portofino and about 25 demands for I approach for the deep zone of before Saint Margherita Ligure.
