The port of Ancona makes a first budget of the decrease of the traffic caused from the sanitary crisis



The Authority of Harbour System of Mare Adriatico Centrale has announced that in the first semester of this year the traffic of the goods enlivened from the port of Ancona has recorded a decrease contained regarding the forecasts formulated to light of the consequences of the sanitary emergency for the coronavirus on the activity of the harbour port of call. In particular, the traffic ro-ro has marked a bending of the -18,7% on the first come down half of 2019 being from 2,25 million to 1,83 million tons, while the course of the goods in container (- 0.8% has turned out stable), passed by 613 thousand to 609 thousand tons (in terms of containers from 20 ' enlivened the traffic is diminished of the -5,8% to 78.056 teu). The number of the tir and the trailer is come down from 71 thousand to 61 thousand (- 14%).

In the first six months of the 2020 port of Ancona it is climbed by 610 ships regarding 774 in the first semester last year, negative difference (- 21%) - has specified the harbour agency - due in prevalence to the decrease of the number of the ferries own for the arrest warrant of the circulation of the passengers and the consequent reduction of the race by the shipowners.

The president of the AdSP, Rodolfo Giampieri, has found that of the first semester of 2020 is a made budget of lights and shadows: "to a contained decrease of the traffic goods - it has observed - ago to contraltare a fort and inevitable fleeting decrease of the traffic, determined from the block of mobility of the people to international level. The reservations that, in recent years, were already numerous to March, are only beginning in these weeks. From the first July - it has specified Giampieri - we are noticing a timid resumption of the traffic fleeting for the effective reopening of the frontiers. It is a work in progress that we are verifying every week with the marine agencies and the operators who have continued in these months, with tenacity and resistance, to maintain all the port with the constant engagement of Harbour office, Customs corps operating, Customs, Polmare".

An international port, that it sees a reduction so seriates of the traffic fleeting, influences unavoidably also on the diffuse wealth that the movement of people creates on the territory".
