In the first quarter of this year, the trend continued negative traffic of goods handled by the port of Koper started in the second quarter of 2025. In the first three months of 2026 the total cargoes were 5.22 million tons, with a decrease of -3.9% on the same period last year year. In the container sector alone, 2.41 were handled million tons (-1.7%). Rolling stock is also down with 328 thousand tons (-9.7%), while other miscellaneous goods, with 295 thousand tons, recorded an increase of +14.3%. Growing liquid bulk cargo, which totaled 1.09 million tons (+7.8%), while dry bulk cargo decreased by -18.6% to 1.10 million tonnes.
